This stein has not been found with a Bohne mark, nor is it listed in known Bohne catalogs. It has been credited to Bohne on the basis of physical characteristics.
Character is one of two mischievous young boys from the childrens illustrated verse “Max and Moritz”, written and drawn by Wilhelm Busch in 1865 (see original illustration below). Only one copy of this stein is currently known to exit and a companion “Max” stein has yet to surface.
