Ansbach
Ansbacher Fayencewalzenkrug 1805 DatiertWeiß glasierte Fayence mit bunten Scharffeuerfarben bemalt. Auf grün-gelbem Landschaftssockel hält ein Bauer in Tracht seinen von zwei Pferden gezogenen Pflug. Auf den Seiten ein Tannenbaum sowie eine Blumenranke, in der Mitte ein Laubbaum. Auf dem Boden in Mangan “I.G.W.” und die Datierung “1805”. Dieser Fayencekrug stammt aus den letzten beiden Jahren der Ansbacher Manufaktur. Nach dem Tode des Georg Ludwig Popp im Februar 1804 erbten seine Witwe Maria Dorothea Popp und seine Schwester Katharina Föttinger die Fabrik. Diese legten den Betrieb 1806 völlig still und ließen 1807 das Anwesen versteigern. Zinnmontierung. Höhe: 25 cm
White glazed faience painted with colored “Scharffeuer” paint. On a green-yellow landscape base a farmer in local costume guides his plow which is being pulled by two horses. On the sides a fir tree as well as a spray of blossoms, a deciduous tree is in the center.
On the bottom is a manganese “I.G.W.” and the date “1805”.
This faience stein dates from the last two years of the Ansbach factory. After the death of Georg Ludwig Popp in February of 1804 his widow Maria Dorothea Popp and his sister Katharina Foettinger inherited the factory. These two stopped operation of the company completely in 1806 and had the property auctioned off in 1807.
