(The sunshine of life is drinking, singing and being happy.)
“Bei Scherzen und Lieben werden die Grillen vertrieben.”
(With merriment and loving bad thoughts are chased away.)

The theme of this stein is drawn from ancient German and Norse legends, which later served as the basis for Der Ring des Nibelungen, a series of four operas by Richard Wagner. In this scene, the hero Siegfried is seen in a romantic pose with the valkyrie Brunhilde, has true love and daughter of Wotan, the chief God.
