Pottery or stoneware, relief, 2.0L, pewter lid.

St. Hubertus is the patron saint of hunters among French and German-speaking peoples of Europe. There is a crucifix between the antlers of a stag at the left of the central image symbolizing the vision that appeared to him at the moment of his epiphany.

Surrounding the top of the stein are five images of 19th century German composers, including Franz Schubert, et al.
