Pottery or stoneware, relief, 0.5L, pewter lid.

Text:
“Prosit Blume”
(Cheers to the Beer Head)
“Ein voller Krug, ein guter Zug, Radi und Salz, dann ist’s genug.”
(A full stein, a good chug, radish and salt, that’s plenty.)

“Der Blumen Rache”
(Revenge of the Beer Head)
“O jerum, jerumjemineh, die Blumen bringen Ach u. Weh.”
(Oh woe is me, the heads bring aches and pain.)

Created as the coat-of-arms or archival seal of Munich in 1239, the centrally depicted Münchner Kindl (Munich Child) has evolved from a hooded monk standing in front of Munich’s gate to a charming child and symbol of the city.
