“Die Waldfee ”
(The Wood Nymph)
“Die Jahre vergehn, der Durst bleibt bestehn.”
(The years pass, the thirst remains.)
A Waldfee is a female divinity inhabiting a forest or a tree, especially an oak tree. Drawn from Druidic tradition, these cousins to the mythological Greek Dryad appear regularly in German art and literature.
This stein exists in two virtually identical versions numbered 1167 and 11167 (presumably later). Sale prices tend to be in the same general range for both.
