Friedrich III in Hussar Uniform

Catalog No. 932

Pottery or stoneware, figural, 0.5L.

Following the death of Emperor Wilhelm I in 1888, Friedrich III (1831-1888) was crowned Emperor but reigned for only ninety-nine days due to cancer of the larynx. He was succeeded that same year by his son, Wilhelm II. Shown here in his Hussar (light cavalry) uniform, the depiction is probably intended to represent the younger Prussian Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm.

Price Range: $250-$350
