The building that served as the model for this stein is the landmark Frauenturm, a defensive tower constructed in the 16th century at Nuremberg�s main gate.
�F&M/N� is the mark of Felsenstein & Mainser, a Nuremberg finishing shop and distributor.
A variation of this stein (below right) was made for the 1903 �X Deutsches Turnfest � N�rnberg� (10th German Gymnastics Festival � Nuremberg) and may be marked either �F&M/N�, �Georg Leykauf/N�rnberg� or �L. Ostermayr/N�rnberg�.
