The central image on this stein depicts the Lee Monument in New Orleans, dedicated to Civil War Confederate General Robert E. Lee. It was removed from public display in 2017. Side images include the Spanish Cabildo, once a seat of colonial government and now a museum, as well as the Jackson Statue, honoring Andrew Jackson, hero of the Battle of New Orleans, which has also been removed from public display. The lid inlay replicates the state seal of Louisiana, featuring an image of a nesting pelican tearing at its own breast to feed its chicks.
