Given the stags that form part of the motif on this stein, it�s likely that the central figure is intended to depict St. Hubertus, patron saint of hunters among French and German-speaking peoples of Europe, who claimed that a crucifix appeared to him between the antlers of a stag at the moment of his epiphany.
