Bismarck

Catalog No. 15

Porcelain, figural, 0.5L or 0.3L.
Produced in full-color, blue and honey tones. The 0.3L version is only known to exist with honey coloring.

Otto von Bismarck (1815-98) was known as the Iron Chancellor and is generally acknowledged as having been the prime mover in unifying the German states under a single ruler (Wilhelm I) and in the rise of Germany as a great European power.

Reproductions of this stein (0.5L), principally full-color but also honey-toned, were made by multiple manufacturers after World War II, including Rastal, R.P.M. and others. Some have been seen displaying the typical Schierholz crosshatch (#) mark, and others have no mark at all. It is unclear whether or not any of these reproductions were actually made in the Schierholz factory.
