Hungover Tomcat

Catalog No. 28

Porcelain, figural, 0.5L.
Produced in honey-toned and blue-spotted versions, and in a black and gray version labeled “Hidegeigey”.

The tomcat (Kater) is both a German symbol and idiomatic expression for the inevitable result of overindulgence in alcoholic beverages.

“Hidegeigey” (bottom left) was a remarkably human-like feline character in the poem entitled “The Trumpeter of Säckingen”, written by Josef Viktor von Scheffel in 1853.
