The rich history of Annapolis, MD, site of the 2012 SCI convention, is represented graphically on this stein with a surrounding scene showing George Washington resigning his commission at the Maryland State House in Annapolis on December 23, 1783. The image is taken from a painting by John Trumbull, completed in 1824 and currently hanging in the Capitol rotunda in Washington, DC.
The relief pewter lid, formed in the shape of a globe centered on the North Atlantic, recalls Annapolis� history as a tobacco port in the 17th and 18th centuries.
