This stein was originally produced by Stahl in the early 1990s for class of graduating engineers at the University of Leipzig. The character was given only three fingers on each hand: one for thumbs up; the second one for pointing out an instruction; and the third one for just showing “the” finger. The total quantity in the initial production run was approximately 200 pieces, but the stein has been reproduced several times since then.
