The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.) is an American fraternal order originally founded in 1868 as a social club for minstrel show performers. This special order stein was produced for the Elks Lodge in Portland, Oregon. The 11th hour clock above the elk’s head in the central image is a traditional B.P.O.E. symbol for remembrance of departed members.
