Born in 1858, Augusta Viktoria, daughter of Duke Friedrich III of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenberg, was married to Emperor (Kaiser) Wilhelm II in 1881. Following Wilhelm’s abdication at the end of World War I, she accompanied him to the Netherlands where she died in 1921.
