The manufacturer’s title for this stein makes reference to the Cherusci (or Cheruski) tribe, one of the principal participants in the Battle of Teutoburg Forest in 9 A.D., which resulted in a permanent halt to the expansion plans of the Roman Empire into territories east of the Rhine river.
