Porcelain, figural, 0.3L.
Created as the coat-of-arms or archival seal of Munich in 1239, the Mnchner Kindl (Munich Child) has evolved from a hooded monk standing in front of Munichs gate to a charming child and symbol of the city, depicted here holding a stein and a large white radish, a traditional Bavarian beer accompaniment.
This stein was a special order piece made for Martin Pauson, a Munich finishing shop and distributor. It is sometimes seen with the Schierholz crosshatch mark (#) in addition to the words Martin Pauson.
Price Range: $200-$300
