Central scene taken from a poem entitled �The Trumpeter of S�ckingen�, written in 1853 by Josef Viktor von Scheffel, which tells the story of a love affair between a trumpeter and a baron�s daughter. Original engraving entitled �Abschied� (Farewell) done in 1888 by Carl Schweninger (1854-1903).
