Scene taken from a poem entitled �The Trumpeter of S�ckingen�, written in 1853 by Josef Viktor von Scheffel, which tells the story of a love affair between a trumpeter and a baron�s daughter. Original engraving entitled �Der erste Kuss� (The First Kiss) done in 1888 by Carl Schweninger (1854-1903).
Third in a set of six, with 1524, 1525, 1527, 1528 and 1529. Master stein is No. 1504. See also Nos. 103, 126 and 317.
